DINOSAUR FACTS: Length: up to 6.3 m (20.7 ft) sub-adult. Weight:757 kg (1,669 lb). Location: Nanxiong Formation, Ganzhou, China. Time: period: 67–66 million years ago – Late Cretaceous. Named by: LüJunchang et al., 2014. Famously nicknamed ‘Pinocchio rex’, Qianzhousaurus is one of three species of ‘long-snouted’ Asian Tyrannosaurs of the Alioramini branch. Qianzhousaurus was more lightly built than its robust Tyrannosaur cousins, and was adapted to catch faster prey such as oviraptors and ornithomimids.
